Head of Tours and International co-productions

Christina Liata was born in Athens, Greece. She studied Theatre (theatre studies – theory and practice) at the Athens “Kapodistriakon” University, and after being awarded a scholarship from the Athens Academy, she pursued postgraduate studies in Paris, France in the fields of Theatre History and Aesthetics (Master’s degree from Paris 8 University) and Cultural Management and Communication (Master’s degree from Paris 10 Nanterre University).

Since 2003 she has been actively involved with cultural management, production and communication. She has worked from 2003 to 2005 at the Pompidou Centre in Paris for “Videodanse Festival” and collaborated as a free-lancer with various French theatre groups and associations in production and communication positions. Upon returning to Greece in 2007 she has worked mainly for performing arts and film festivals: “Kalamata International Dance Festival” 2008, “Athens Street Art Festival” 2009, “Thessaloniki International Film Festival” and “Thessaloniki Documentary Festival”. From 2008-2012 she has worked as general administrator for the international independent Festival “MIR”, based in Athens, focusing on Dance and Performance (stage creations on the crossroads of dance, theatre, and performance art).

Furthermore, she had a two-year collaboration (2008-2010) as web-content manager at the “Operational Program Education and Life-Long learning” of the Greek Ministry of Education where she has also held responsibilities as accounting controller of programs of NSRF Funds at national level. She collaborated for the two following years (2011-2013) with the State Scholarships Foundation-(ΙKY) of Greece as projects coordinator for EU Funds at national level. 

Since November 2013 she has been appointed “Head of Tours and International co-productions” at the Onassis Cultural Centre – Onassis STEGI, where she coordinates international co-productions, develops collaborative platforms and formats, schedules international and national tours of artists produced by the OCC, and administrates the “EXTROVERSION program”, an umbrella of support actions for the enhancement of mobility and professionalisation of Greek artists.
